[ENG] From Instinct to Intelligence

We are in the age of AI, where companies with fewer than five people are generating millions—if not billions—in revenue. “Revenue per Employee” has become one of the hottest metrics used to justify unprecedented valuations.

Today, the right person is expected to generate millions, while the wrong person can cost millions—or far more.

This may not apply to every organization today, but sooner or later, every organization will be forced to answer the most important question:

“Who is the right person?”

Ironically, this question is not objectively answerable—yet it is often recognized.
We all witnessed moments when a CEO or hiring manager walked out of an interview saying they found “the one.” There is rarely a systematic rationale behind the decision. There is only instinct.

They may not openly admit it, but it’s true: CEOs and hiring managers rely on instinct when it comes to recruiting.

In general, instinct, is a powerful subconscious signal that helps humans detect patterns and avoid potential risks without conscious reasoning. Given the limitations of today’s recruiting processes, it is natural—even rational—for smart leaders to depend on instinct.

The following limitations are widely recognized, yet rarely mentioned:

  • Career history or education is a poor predictor of future success.
  • A few hours of interviews are never enough to truly understand a person.
  • Interview outcomes are inherently biased by the interviewer.
  • Referrals and reference checks are biased by nature.
  • Most companies are not even certain what kind of person they truly need.

Despite these flaws, few leaders with exceptional recruiting instincts have built extraordinary companies. Most suffered costly with recruiting failures—often worth millions.

Instinct is difficult matter to transfer or teach. It takes years to develop, and some argue it is a talent you are simply born with.

But this doesn’t have to continue.

We are in the age of AI. We believe it is possible to harness the best of proven recruiting instincts—and transform them into something reliable, scalable, and objective.

We are building something CEOs and hiring managers can truly depend on:

Intelligence.

This is a journey to redefine recruiting. "From Instinct to Intelligence."
